Hiya!

My name is Kaitlyn Avery

I'm inviting you to create with Kait! For me, I create because of the Creator.
In the beginning, God created, so it is only fitting that I follow suit. God yielded the hands

of an artist. My work is created as an act of worship. Our desire to create is woven into the fabric of our very being. It is a blessing that I am able to create in such a way, all glory be to God.

Work

Splash of color in Lithography

In the Winter of 2023, I experimented with adding color runs to the key images by using an ink wash on textured mylar and creating posi-photo plates or screens for the metallic ink

Work

Experimental Litho - Mokulito

Combination of lithography and relief printing by processing a block of wood like a litho stone with a hot etch, including phosphoric acid, gum arabic, and TAPEM - printed on handmade German cotton paper, in remembrance of my time spent in Berlin

Work

Parable Series - Metal Etchings

The purpose of parables is to reveal truth through visuals and descriptions, "but blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear"

(Matthew 13:10-16)

"So Will I" - Etching Series

“If Creation sings Your praises, so will I - If the stars were made to worship, so will I - If the mountains bow in reverence, so will I - If the oceans roar Your greatness, so will I - For if everything exists to lift You high, so will I” (Song by Hillsong Worship)

Relief - Woodcuts

Relief was one of the first forms of printmaking, essentially utilizing the uncarved surface as a large stamp. Once the block is carved, it is then inked with a roller or brayer and impressed onto paper.

 Lithography in Threefold

Lithography is considered one of the more refined ancient practices of print production, which was primarily used for printing type-based images like labels or diplomas. The following three prints are just a glimpse into my litho experience.

Inspiration

I am learning that productivity looks different for everyone and that growth is a process that takes time. Trust the process. That is where imminent change steps in. So, do not be afraid
