An Artist in the Making

The beauty of creating art is that it captures the moment while it lasts. To the ordinary eye, art is seen as the image being portrayed, but it is so much more than that. The process of creating a work of art involves one brushstroke, one carving mark. or one pen flow after another; each stroke has a place and adds significance to the overall piece. Similarly, life is about every step along the way; every small detail and every hardship we face creates the work of art that we become. There is nothing quite like capturing the essence of life by putting pen to paper, painting on a canvas, or listening to the sound of the shutter when taking a picture. My father has given me an amazing trait, passing down his love for artistic expression. Following in his footsteps, I plan to express my passion and creativity through a career in the visual arts. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of growing up and becoming an artist. Little did I know, that I would be standing where I am today. Lastly, my dear mother has always said, “God put each and every one of us on this Earth for a reason.” Therefore, I believe my sole purpose in life is to shed light on others by using my God-given talents, and I intend to do just that.
