This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to celebrate a dear friend of mine's birthday in a city that was new to me, NYC, the Big Apple! Everything was a sight to behold, from the towering skyscrapers to the city lights at night, the museums and art galleries, the theater productions, the authentic food, and the lively hustle on the streets. I couldn't help but connect the experience with the season of life I am in, discovering how art makes me happy and making a career out of it. As we explored the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I took only a few snippets of pieces I admired because I wanted to take it all in without being too concerned with getting pictures of everything. I even stumbled across fellow artists sketching their observations, so I decided to follow suit with this sketchbook entry. Below is a moment I captured of a kind soul that goes by "@manofthemet," and I could tell he grew gleeful as he noticed were people gathering to watch him. I hope to one day have my work on display and let it be evident that my heart and soul are also on display.

"To be a museum that is not only of the world, but in the world—and where anyone can find their place." ( The Story behind Our Brand Identity. Metmuseum.org. )
